The object

Bruer uses controlled dripping rather than leaving all the water in contact with the coffee at once. An adjustable valve lets you set the drip rate, making water delivery part of the recipe. The manufacturer lists a yield of up to 590 mL, or 20 fl oz, in as little as four hours.

That method suits someone who enjoys adjusting a longer brew rather than preparing an overnight immersion pitcher. The glass system includes 100 paper filters, and replacement components are listed by the manufacturer. This is the black model, previously called charcoal, with a separate carafe below the brewing chamber.
