About this coffee

Finca Santa Clara is located on the fertile southern slopes of Volcán de Agua in Guatemala’s renowned Antigua Valley. The farm is owned and managed by the Zelaya family, who have been producing coffee in Guatemala for over 100 years and across four generations. Sustainability is central to the Zelaya family’s approach to coffee production. Shade-grown cultivation, eco-friendly wet mills and a comprehensive water recycling system help minimise environmental impact. The farm is equally committed to supporting its workforce. Santa Clara employs 25 permanent staff throughout the year and more than 330 seasonal workers during harvest. In 2010, Ricardo Zelaya established a scholarship program to support the education of workers’ children. Now managed by his daughter Bel, the initiative continues to expand, reflecting the family’s long-standing commitment to investing in both people and the future of their local community.
