The object

Technica makes the brewing process visible through two heatproof-glass chambers. Heating moves water into the upper chamber for contact with the coffee; removing the heat allows the brew to draw back through a cloth filter. The current Hario USA listing is the 600 mL, five-cup configuration.

Choose it when you want the familiar stand-mounted siphon format and are comfortable preparing and maintaining a cloth filter. Its manufacturer cup designation refers to small servings rather than full mugs. Keep the burner, filter assembly, and replacement parts in mind when planning the setup.
